Back to school: North West Premier to visit Ikageng school─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 05:47 Wed, 11 Jan 2023
Thousands of learners in North West province are set to return to school on Wednesday, 11 January 2023, to start the new academic year.
As part of the school readiness initiative in the province, Premier Bushy Maape is expected to visit the Resolofetse Secondary school in the Ikageng township in the JB Marks Local Municipality.
According to the Premier's spokesperson, Sello Taitai, the primary objective of the visit is to assess the state of readiness on the first day of the academic year. He adds that Maape will also be devising intervention measures for the challenges confronting the school.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Department of Education in the province, Elias Malindi, stated that departmental officials, councillors and members of Parliament will be deployed on 11 and 12 January 2023 to address challenges that will be raised by community members.
In an effort to be transparent and collaborate with parents and guardians, Malindi asked community members to raise any issues they were aware of in schools.
