Legendary film producer Boet Troskie dies─── 11:16 Sun, 25 Dec 2022

Boet Troskie, the famous South African film producer, died at the age of 86 on Christmas Eve, surrounded by his loved ones in the Mediclinic in Bloemfontein.
Troskie was born on 2 November 1936 and gained fame for award-winning films such as Dirkie (1969), Staal Burger (1969) and The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980) which he produced.
He established Mimosa Films in 1964 along with his brother, Bill Troskie and Al Debbo, a legendary comedian.
After establishing Mimosa Films, he debuted in 1967 as the supervising producer for the title, The Professor And The Beauty Queen.
Following his successful debut, he went on to partner with the writer and director Jamie Uys.
Troskie was in the hospital for almost two weeks where the staff took exceptionally good care of him, his wife Tracy tells Netwerk24.
He was initially diagnosed with Covid-19.
