Troubled Matjhabeng appoints new municipal manager─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 07:22 Sat, 10 Dec 2022
The executive mayor of the Matjhabeng municipality in the Free State, Thanduxolo Khalipha, has announced the appointment of advocate Lonwabo Ronald Ngoqo as the new municipal manager.
This follows his appointment by the council on Wednesday.
According to the executive mayor's spokesperson, Tshepiso Tlali, Ngoqo previously served as municipal manager at the Bitou Local Municipality and Sondagsrivier Valley Municipality in the Eastern Cape.

He was also an acting director for Economic and Social Development, as well as Human Resources Manager at the Kouga Municipality in the Eastern Cape.

Meanwhile, Khalipha said that Ngoqo’s appointment reflects the council's intent to professionalise and depoliticise the municipality.
He said he’s confident Ngoqo will add value to the municipality, streamline operations and improve service delivery.
