North West MEC to meet with businesses─── 07:41 Wed, 23 Nov 2022
The newly appointed North West MEC for Cooperative Governance and Human Settlements, Nono Maloyi, will today lead a high-level technical team meeting at Lafarge Cement in the Ditsobotla Local Municipality in Lichtenburg.
The meeting aims to make the business community aware of certain developments instituted by the current administrator, Radinaledi Mosiane, and his team since taking over after the Municipal Council was disbanded in September.
Maloyi says the meeting is important as there haven't been any real engagements with businesses in the area following the decision by the provincial government to place the municipality under Section 139 (1) (c) administration.
OFM News learned that Maloyi will be accompanied by the Finance MEC, Motlalepule Rosho, and the MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari.
"It's time to open lines of communication and restore confidence in the ability of the local government to take charge and lead in Ditsobotla. Non-communication has led to many businesses neglecting to pay their municipal accounts," says Maloyi.
