An upside-down school, equipped with modern technology, has been launched in the North West province.

The Ten Flags Theme Park ramped up their vision of being the epicentre of global tourism by launching the school in Rustenburg.

According to the statement issued, the school is pioneered by businessman, Thapelo Tshepe, who shared the vision and the purpose of the design are to inspire aspiring ICT hopefuls and engineer scientists, amongst others, to think differently.

Tshepe said the upside-down school is aimed at creating an atmosphere where an average student would be able to challenge the status quo through innovative thinking.

"Our Integrated value proposition demonstrates the diversity of South Africa and recreational learning. The school is a catalyst for job creation and talent development," he said.

Meanwhile, the Ten Flags Theme Park confirmed that the endorsement of the project was obtained from the Minister of Basic Education and the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture respectively. North West Education spokesperson, Elias Malindi, said the school has officially been launched on 30 September 2022 by the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga.
