Premier hopes 4IR technology will improve service delivery─── 13:39 Thu, 21 Jul 2022
The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technology will introduce developments that will improve service delivery.
This is according to the Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela, who explained that the Free State province and the Central University of Technology (CUT) are continental leaders in this technology.
Ntombela said this will help reduce queues at essential public service facilities such as clinics and police stations. She further said water and electricity problems will be resolved through this technology.
"The Premier's office invested R5 million to support the CUT Technology Innovation Hub, and the money was used effectively. It empowered the hospitality sector of the CUT, and contributed to food security. More than 4 000 people attended digital courses, and 101 people are beneficiaries of 4IR technologies".
Ntombela said it is time to implement innovative technology in the Free State and fight unemployment. She further said the committee appointed for this project will have to report to her office twice a year to give an update on progress made.
