The court appearance of a 15-year-old murder suspect, a learner from the Zama Public Primary School, who has allegedly stabbed a fellow learner, has been set for Friday 6 May 2022.
According to the Free State's police spokesperson, Peter Kareli, the case has been postponed because there was no social worker available for him to have a consultation. “He will appear tomorrow after his consultation,” Kareli added.

The 15-year-old suspect was arrested for the alleged murder on Wednesday 5 May 2022, after Zastron police were summoned to the school after reports of a stabbing. On arrival, members discovered that the suspect was chased and arrested by community members, who witnessed the unfortunate incident.
The suspect's uncle previously told OFM News that the minor was handed over to the police by him and a close-by neighbour, after finding him where he was hiding. He explains that he was directed to the suspect by community members. They were shocked by the incident.
The uncle says that the suspect's parents are in different provinces and are making arrangements to arrive in Zastron by the weekend.
