Another person has died on the R30 road outside Allanridge in the Free State.
Free State police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, tells OFM News that a white Polo GTI was driven by a 24-year-old male on Thursday night who was with his relatives. When he reached the gravel part of the road where the flooding is, he allegedly lost control of the vehicle which landed in the water.

Thakeng says that while the vehicle was sinking, the driver, together with an 18-year-old passenger managed to swim from the flooded road, while the 26-year-old passenger drowned.
He says that the police diving unit was summoned to the scene and the body was retrieved from the water. The vehicle was towed out of the water while the surviving duo did not sustain any injuries.
According to Thakeng, the three occupants were travelling from Carletonville to visit their relatives in Bloemfontein.
A case of culpable homicide has been registered for further investigations.
