On-campus registration at the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, in Bloemfontein has been halted for a second day.

This is despite the CUT's management informing students that the protesters gave their assurance that campus will no longer be disrupted.

Classes are supposed to officially commence on Monday. It is not clear if the strike will lead to the postponement of the start of the academic year.

OFM News earlier reported that protesting students handed over a memorandum of demands. Students expressed their concerns over registration matters, outstanding examination marks, and financial matters.

In response to the memorandum, the management communicated that they will be dealing with the issues. The management of the university is yet to reply to OFM News’ inquiry.
