Mangaung, Bloem Water to compare water quality tests─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 09:12 Fri, 28 Jan 2022
The Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM), together with the bulk water supplier Bloem Water, will on Friday compare the outcome of water quality results.
This follows after residents in Botshabelo, in the Free State, have complained about unclean water coming from their taps earlier this week. Bloem Water’s Maruping Rapudungoane informed OFM News that the entity and the municipality have conducted separate tests to figure out what was the issue with the water. The MMM’s spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, confirmed that they are currently attending to the matter and doing their best to sort it out.
The metro previously revealed to the public that they will temporarily be using granular chlorine to clean water for human consumption. The use of granular chlorine comes as an alternative to chlorine gas, as the metro’s supplier experienced a shortage.
The metro assured the public that water quality will be monitored to ensure that it is safe for human consumption.
