Irate supporters of the Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club are set to meet on Saturday to map a way forward.
This was after the club was sold for R50 million to the KwaZulu-Natal businesswoman, Shauwn Mkhize.
Supporters are expected to meet outside the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Rocklands in Bloemfontein a week after the club was sold to Royal AM (FC).
The club had been financially troubled for year's now.
According to sources, the previous owner of the club had also made offers to buy back the club, but attempts fell on deaf ears. The players and club have now officially relocated and the name changed to Royal AM after the Premier Soccer League had approved the deal.
This week recorded audio of a meeting between Max Tshabalala and players did rounds on social media. Following this audio leak, many have lambasted Tshabalala and labelled him as cruel.
In the audio, he is heard telling players that it was up to them whether they wanted to show up to their new club.
The sale of the club with rich football history since its inception in the 1960s, has angered many even none supporters of the club.
Bloemfontein Celtic was, amongst others, the finalist of the 2020/21 MTN 8 Cup final which they lost to Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates FC, by 2-1.
A new logo of the club has now emerged showing that the club wants to rebrand. This logo includes the traditional fist and a newly added symbol of roses reflecting the famously known theme of the City of Roses.
