Tshepong Hospital in the spotlight─── LUCKY NKUYANE 14:01 Tue, 25 May 2021
The MEC for Health in the North West has issued the management of Tshepong Hospital in Jouberton near Klerksdorp with a stern warning.
This follows numerous complaints from patients. During his unannounced visit on Monday at the institution, MEC Madoda Sambatha was met by complaints from patients. He says he was informed by one of the patients that the surgical wards do not have hot water and nurses must boil water every day to bath patients.
Sambatha says during the surprise visit they discovered that there is also a shortage of linen and this has been happening for some time. The department is yet to further give more details on the story.
“We issued a serious warning to the management and the institutions which have a tendency of not having hot water in winter to make sure that is addressed today,” he adds.
