#Coronavirus: FS receives two screening buses | News Article

The Free State Health MEC, Montseng Tsiu, will be officially handed over two mobile Covid-19 screening buses in Bloemfontein in the Free State today.

Health department spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, says these buses arrived last night from Gauteng.

He says they were supplied by the National Health Laboratory Services to strengthen the screening capacity for the Free State.

Mvambi adds that one bus is to be allocated to the Pelonomi Hospital and the other to the Universitas Academic Hospital.

Tshiu was expected to start proceedings at 11:00 at the Universitas Academic Hospital.

This follows after yesterday's visit to the province by the minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize.

OFM News reported he was in the province to show his support, oversee a mass Covid-19 screening, and announce details of the confirmed coronavirus cases in the province at Bophelo House in Bloemfontein.

Mkhize confirmed that the number of infected people in South Africa now stands at 202, and that the Free State recorded 7cases.
