#NalediMurderTrial: Delays plague trial─── LUCKY NKUYANE 09:27 Tue, 03 Mar 2020
Despite calls for swift and speedy justice from residents and family of slain Naledi Lethoba, there seems to be delays in the process at the High Court.
Suspect, Obed Leshoro, on Monday made his third appearance in the pre-trial hearing in the high court sitting in Virginia since the case was transferred from a Magistrate’s Court in Welkom.
National Prosecution Authority (NPA) spokesperson in the province, Phaladi Shuping, told OFM News that the legal representative for Leshoro was not in court and the pre-trial had to be postponed Monday, 9 March.
Leshoro was arrested after Lethoba's badly mutilated and charred body was found in an open veld near Dagbreek in Welkom in May in 2019.
Leshoro, who is believed to have been Lethoba's boyfriend at the time, was handed over to police by his parents four days after Lethoba's body was discovered.
He abandoned his bail application in June. In 2019. Both the deceased and the accused were students at the Goldfields TVET College in Welkom.
