Qwaqwa #WaterCrisis persists─── MARVIN NTSANE 11:26 Tue, 04 Feb 2020
The Department of Water and Sanitation has announced five water trucks have been delivered to Qwaqwa on Tuesday 4 February 2020.
Each truck is said to have a capacity of 16000 liters. The department says five more trucks will be delivered soon. The department has further promised to deliver 1000 water tanks for households. These are expected to arrive together with the five remaining trucks.
Some residents are, however, unpleased with receiving water through the trucks. One person took to social media to question if the trucks could be one of the ANC’s new ways to milk taxpayers’ money.
Meanwhile, it is not only the Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality with awater crisis in the Free State. The Matjhabeng Municipality is currently experiencing it's second week of water scarcity. People from Ventersburg and Mmahabane yesterday were unable to receive water as the water tankers were empty.
