The busy N6 route between Rouxville in the Free State and Aliwal North in the Eastern Cape has been opened for traffic after closure due to heavy rains in the area.
The road was closed since Saturday afternoon due to flooding. This happened after heavy rains caused the Grootdam to burst its banks and overflow onto the road.
Emergency Medical Service’s (EMS) Sipho Towa, confirmed that there were no road incidents reported.
