When asked why it took so long for the iconic coffee brand to expand to Central South Africa, Natalie says the region was always on the radar, however “it was a matter of finding the right partners and suppliers” .
In Mimosa Mall, it appears the brand has found its ideal partner.
Barista champions Teddy Nzama and Kusakusa Kingdom Khumalo (Kay Kay) were also on the show to delve into the country’s coffee culture. Both Nzama and Khumalo agree that the popularity of coffee continues to grow in South Africa and this is evidenced in the expansion of the Starbucks brand.
