Power restored to Bloemfontein mall─── CATHY DLODLO 15:02 Thu, 22 Jul 2021

The electricity supply to one of Bloemfontein’s biggest shopping centres has been restored minutes ago.
This after the mall was left in the dark since yesterday after the city’s electricity distribution company Centlec cut their electricity supply.
OFM News sent questions to Centlec’s spokesperson, Lele Mamatu, who confirmed the situation.
Marketing manager at the Loch Logan Waterfront, Meryl Henning, confirmed that the centre’s electricity supply was restored after it was cut earlier. This forced some of the shops in the mall to close their doors until power is restored.
Henning said large parts of the mall and tenants were not affected as they have generators. She confirmed that the electricity supply was reconnected after the management of the mall negotiated with Centlec. A payment agreement was in place – said Henning – at the time the electricity was cut. Mamatu said this is part of their efforts to get businesses in the city - that owes in total more than R400 million – to pay their outstanding debt.
