This follows fierce criticism by opposition parties who accused him of not sticking to promises he made after being appointed as the premier in 2019. The provincial secretary, Deshi Ngxanga, says the man acted on everything he said he will deliver, which included promises to root out corruption and reduce the high unemployment rate. Ngxanga says the premier has already started with work to appoint doctors and clinical staff and also promised that the province will work towards improving education in the province.

He says the establishment of the state-owned construction company proposed by Saul is at an advanced stage. “The other issue is that the mood was quite dull when he started. Our health services were actually falling apart. He had to put up an office at the Department of Health to ensure that the problems that bedevil that department are addressed.
