Today marks the first official day for the newly appointed Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
Wishing her all the best, political parties promised to support her as her first day is going to be no ordinary day.
Mkhwebane is expected to receive the controversial state capture report from National Assembly Speaker, Baleka Mbete. The report was given to Mbete for safekeeping while the outcome of two court bids against its release is awaited.
President Jacob Zuma and Cooperative Governance Minister Des van Rooyen approached the court to stop outgoing Public Protector Thuli Madonsela from releasing its contents.
On her last day at the office on Friday, Madonsela spoke about the court bids, and her work in general and also gave advice to others in her position.
