Maduka urges players to stick to the process─── MORGAN PIEK 09:42 Thu, 10 Sep 2020
There are nerves in the Bloemfontein Celtic camp ahead of Saturday’s Nedbank Cup final against the Mamelodi Sundowns.
It will be the fourth time this season that Phunya Sele Sele has faced the PSL Championship season, and the team from Bloemfontein is targeting a first win.
Celtic lost both of the league games to the Brazilians, and were also knocked out of the MTN8 quarter-finals by Pitso Mosimane’s charges.
Celtic coach, John Maduka, has asked his players to focus on the process.
“It is a motivation on its own to be in the final.
“We don’t want to put ourselves under pressure. There is excitement, but we don’t want the players to be too excited.
“There are so many things you want to do in that case and you end up not doing the right things.
“We try not to put pressure on the players, they must not have fear. You don’t want them to play the game before Saturday, and just focus on the preparations.”
Saturday’s final at the Orlando Stadium kicks off at 20:00.
