Enyobeni tavern owner and two employees arrested─── 10:25 Wed, 13 Jul 2022
The owner of Enyobeni Tavern in East London has been arrested, alongside two of his employees.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana says the 52-year-old owner and two employees aged 33 and 34 were arrested by a team of detectives working on the case.
Twenty-one teenagers died inside the tavern last month following a "pens down party".
The cause of their deaths remains a mystery as toxicology reports are still outstanding.

Kinana says the suspects are being charged for contravening the Liquor Act by selling or supplying alcohol to children under the age of 18.
He says the employees were each fined R2 000 and if they refuse to pay it they would have to appear alongside the owner in court next month.
The tavern owner, whose name is known to Algoa FM News, will appear in the East London Magistrate's Court on the 19th of August.
