Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics being celebrated today─── CASEY-LEE ANTHONY 12:48 Fri, 08 Nov 2024
These subjects push society forward and educational programmes assist in teaching them to learners in fun and engaging ways, which is all worth celebrating.
Steam is an acronym for talents related to science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.
The history of Steam first comes from the early 2000’s when children were significantly failing in these subjects, which was a great concern, as there was a great need for employees in the field.

Why is this day so important around the world?
• It strengthens a country – countries with more Steam workers have more innovation.
• It promotes important subject areas, in the future there will be minimum job opportunities and Artificial Intelligence will take over most tasks, but with Steam, careers will be around a lot longer.
• It creates a fun environment, most people remember a mathematics class or science class not just because of the difficulties faced but because of the method used to solve the issues.

There has also always been a need to get more females into the field of Steam, as it was a more male-dominated career for many years, and still is.
Parents are highly encouraged to get their children into Steam subjects or hobbies from a young age, to get first-hand experience of the wonders that science is and the potential it has, there are various options for after-school or pre-school activities for children to participate in, and maybe one day they will become the next inventor of something great.

• Marine Science
Today we celebrate all our scientists doing the work for the earth, and may there be many more advancements to assist the human race.
