Their defeat means Munster will go into the international break with three consecutive defeats, losing four of their six URC games this season.

The Sharks put on a masterclass in rugby when they thrashed Munster in Durban in the United Rugby Championship (URC) by 41-24.  The Sharks scored their first try courtesy of Aphelele Fassi within 43 seconds and scored five in the first half, securing a bonus point in the 36th minute. He was followed over the whitewash by Makazole Mapimpi, Grant Williams and André Esterhuizen.

Munster salvaged some pride before half-time with tries by Tom Ahern and Mike Haley, but down 31-10, they had their work cut out in the second half.  The visitors fought back valiantly, but the Sharks drew first blood again in the second half when flanker Vincent Tshituka scored a try in the 65th minute.

Flyhalf Jordan Hendrikse converted seven of seven kicks and accounted for 16 of the Sharks’ 41 points.

But Munster wasn’t quite done yet and tries from Calvin Nash and captain Tadhg Beirne gave the visitors a valuable bonus point.  Their defeat means Munster go into the international break with three consecutive defeats, losing four of their six URC games this season.

The Sharks’ URC competition continues on 30 November, when they will host the Stormers in Durban.
