“We’ve had a good foundation and Tony has just taken it to the next level. It’s a process and it’s going to take time for it to be where we want it to be. He’s just unlocked skillsets all over the field.”

The veteran Springbok flyhalf Handré Pollard is of the view the team’s attack is only going to get more lethal going forward.

Pollard will be playing in his 76th Test on Saturday (21/9) when they take to the field against Argentina in an important Rugby Championship clash in Santiago del Estero.

This season has seen the former All Blacks and Otago Highlanders flyhalf, Tony Brown, come in as the attack coach and there is a marked difference in the team’s offence.

Pollard said Brown has been a brilliant addition to the coaching staff of the world champions.

“We’re really enjoying it a lot – it’s been really good and it’s fresh,’ said Pollard.

“We’ve had a good foundation and Tony has just taken it to the next level. It’s a process and it’s going to take time for it to be where we want it to be. He’s just unlocked skillsets all over the field. Forwards are using some more skill than they are used to, they are not just running straight lines.

“It’s really fun. There are some many opportunities now, and the more we can create space for those outside backs we have, who are probably the best in the world, the better.

“There will be opportunities here and there where we can also express ourselves down the middle of the pitch. In general Tony has been brilliant and we are really enjoying working with him.’
