The Toyota Cheetahs lock, Aidon Davis, is confident of being back in action next weekend against Western Province in the Currie Cup.

Davis, who normally plays in the loose-trio has been filling in at second-row of late.

The player sustained a knock to the hip-pointer during the 66-14 drubbing of the Lions in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Davis told OFM Sport that the niggle is doing a lot better.

“The hip-pointer is feeling better and the doctor said that we must just take it day-by-day and see how the pain goes,", said the versatile Davis.

“I'm positive that I will be available to play against Province.

“Having said that, I felt that Ockie Barnard did a really good job coming on that early and playing for about 70 minutes.

“But I'm positive that I'll play against Province.”

The Cheetahs other main injury concern is the flyhalf Siya Masuku, be he too is expected to be fit.

The Cheetahs host Province at 17:45 next week Wednesday at the Toyota Stadium.
