The Tafel Lager Griquas have received a major boast ahead of their Currie Cup game against the Bulls in Kimberley next week.
The seasoned lock, Cameron Lindsay, is fit and ready to play following a long lay-off due to a shoulder injury.
While Lindsay brings experience, the current lock combination of Mzwanele Zito and Derik Pretorius has been gelling well and they are playing well together.
The 30-year-old Lindsay told OFM Sport that it’s going to be tough to earn a spot in the match-23 but he welcomes the stiff competition in the young squad.
“It's great to be back”, said the hard-working second-rower.
“I'm very happy and it's great to be playing again. The competition in the squad is really good at the moment and the guys are really fighting for their places.
“There is some great depth and that is great for our team and going forward in the competition.
“These two wins at home have been great for us. It's good for the squad as we are quite a young team and I think that it has given us quite a lot of confidence.”
The Peacock Blues will host the Bulls, next week Saturday at 14:30 at Tafel Lager Park.
