Free State High Court set to make ruling on Estina/Vrede adjacent case─── LUCKY NKUYANE 10:29 Thu, 03 Nov 2022
The Free State High Court is expected to make a ruling on Thursday 3 November 2022 on an application to compel the state to release details to some of the accused in the Estina/Vrede adjacent case.
Some of the suspects, including Ronica Rogavan and Islandsite Investments, brought an application in September 2022 to have the state furnish them with more documents in the case against them.
Another suspect, Denish Patel, also made an application to have his bail conditions relaxed to allow him to travel.
The case is not in session yet. Eight people, including the notorious Gupta brothers' so-called "Gupta Lieutenant", Iqbal Sharma, and the former Free State government officials Seipati Dhlamini, Peter Thabethe and Limakatso Moorosi, face various charges, including money laundering. The former
government officials are also charged with contravening the Public Finance Management Act.
