Jabulani Tsambo - better known by his stage name Hip Hop Pantsula, HHP or Jabba - has died. He was 38.
Details surrounding his death are unconfirmed.
HHP has in the past opened up about suffering from depression. Tsambo initially rose to prominence with the group, Verbal Assassins, which split up after their debut album.
His next solo album, Introduction, was produced by Isaac Mthethwa and recorded in different South African languages. He was the co-chair of a record label, Lekoko Entertainment.
Tsambo is survived by his wife, Lerato Sengadi, and a child. Tributes began pouring in shortly after the news broke.
