Temperatures plummet as snow falls─── 10:25 Thu, 04 Oct 2018
Temperatures have dropped in most parts of South Africa. Snow has already fallen in Clarens in the Free State, along the Drakensberg mountains in KwaZulu-Natal and Lesotho.
It has prompted a travel alert for motorists earlier as sleet and snow were expected on the N3 toll route.
Sleet and light snow were predicted for Harrismith, Van Reenen’s Pass, Mooi River, Ladysmith and the KZN Midlands.
Meteorologists are also warning of severe thunderstorms in parts of the country.
