Namaqua flower display extended─── OLEBOGENG MOTSE 09:24 Sat, 08 Sep 2018
If you’re in Namaqualand this September, you’re in luck, as the region is currently experiencing an extended flower display.
The Northern Cape Tourism Authority says the extended bloom is due to good winter rains in the region.
This is in contrast to last year, when the flower bloom was held back due to delayed rainfall.
The Authority has released a list of flower hotspots that tourists and residents can visit to catch a view of the sea of yellow, blue, purple, orange flowers before the end of September.
These hotspots include the Namaqua National Park, the Botanical Garden in Nieuwoudtville, as well as the route between Springbok and Kamieskroon along the N7.
Visitors can call the Namaqua Flower Hotline on +27 (0)72 760 6019 from 8am until 8pm, seven days a week, for advice on flower-viewing hotspots, assistance with planning their trips and queries on spring flower routes in the Namaqua region.
