According to Police spokesperson, Mamello Mokhuoane, the incident occurred on Sunday, July 3, in the township, Thabong, when eight suspects, who are between the ages of 15 and 28, allegedly attacked the deceased, Themba Nqabashe, and his friend. Mukhuoane says in the aftermath of the incident local police followed up on information which earlier this morning led them to houses and hide out spots of individuals belonging to the local gang Stout Kinders (STK). The accused were found in possession of an array of weapons, while one of them – a 28-year old male – was found in possession of drugs. Mokhuoane explains what happened the night Nqabashe was stabbed to death.

She says the eight suspects stormed into a house in Orange Grove in Thabong armed with knives, just after 7 pm, looking for an individual by the name of Sabata. They proceeded to enter a shack located on the premises, where they found the deceased and his friend, Karabo Nteo. They then stabbed them multiple times. Nqabashe was declared dead at the scene, while Nteo was taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

She says the suspects are expected to appear in the local Magistrates Court within the next 48 hours.
