Freezing weather expected in Central South Africa─── JOSCA HUMAN 08:25 Fri, 29 Jun 2018
Freezing temperatures of up to -6 degrees Celsius can be expected in Central South Africa next week.
The South African Weather Service’s Kevin Ingram, from the Bloemfontein Weather Office, says while Central South Africa can be expecting a warm weekend ahead, a cold front is approaching on Monday and will be in full effect from Wednesday onwards. Ingram says maximum temperatures of a mere 14 degrees Celsius can be expected. Rainfall is also predicted and Ingram says there is a 30% probability of rain in Bloemfontein.
“Rainfall can be expected from Monday. The Southern Free State can expect a small chance of rainfall of 30%. The Western parts of the Free State can expect cool temperatures, and this will spread to the Eastern parts on Tuesday,” says Ingram.
The North West can be expecting temperatures rising up to 22 degrees. Ingram says in the western parts of the North West maximum temperatures will reach 18 degrees Celsius. He also says no rain is predicted for the North West, however, there are chances of rain in the Northern Cape.
“Over the Northern Cape we are expecting some rain in the southern parts on Monday. On Sunday we are expecting good rain over the western parts,” says Ingram.
