Kimberley Hospital back in full operation

Kimberley Hospital back in full operation | News Article

The Northern Cape Department of Health says operations are back to normal at the Kimberley Hospital after the hospital’s laundry services came to a standstill due to lack of coal supply used to power their machinery.

Department spokesperson, Lebohang Majaha, refutes allegations that services at this hospital are on a downward spiral and that issues faced at the laundry division had compromised hundreds of patients’ hygiene. He further refutes allegations that this was caused by the financial crisis faced by the department.

He told OFM News, coal trucks used by suppliers to make deliveries had a break down and the supplier thus had to source an alternative truck.

This department together with the department of Education received the biggest chunk of the provincial’s R17.2 billion budget for the 2018/19 financial year.
