Speakers at the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela memorial service in Brandfort organised by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) once again lauded her for what she did for South Africa.

Member of the African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL) Nomazotsho Memani says Madikizela-Mandela was generous at some stage she had to resign from all her positions and go into the squatter camps giving out food parcels.

Leader of the Democratic Alliance in the Free State Patricia Kopane said Madikizela-Mandela paved the way for her and many others.

Kopane said that Madikizela-Mandela had managed to bring different parties together referring to the different political parties represented at the service.

Cape Town Mayor Patricia De Lille   addressed those present at the Majwemasweu stadium saying Madikizela-Mandela knew that “our struggles know, no political affiliations”. She said Madikizela-Mandela was a “flower”.

At the time of publishing EFF Leader Julius Malema had yet to take to the podium and deliver his address.
