Ntombela soon expected to officially take Magashule’s seat | News Article

The newly elected Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela, is expected to take office once Ace Magashule vacates his premiership position at the end of the month.

This, after Magashule in his capacity as ANC Secretary General announced after a National Working Committee (NWC) briefing that Refilwe Mtshweni has been appointed premier-elect in Mpumalanga and Sisi Ntombela as premier-elect in the Free State.

Meanwhile, spokesperson for the office of the premier, Setjhaba Maphalla, says Magashule still holds his premiership position and the ANC Women's League deputy president, Sisi Ntombela, still serves in the provincial government as the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta).

Political Analyst, Sethulego Matebesi, told OFM News Ntombela still need to be voted in and sworn-in in the Provincial Legislature.

The spokesperson for the Free State Legislature, Life Mokone, is yet to respond to OFM News’ enquiries on plans as to when the special sitting will take place, and due processes to be followed before Ntombela could officially take the seat.
