DA: Release FS Vrede Dairy report─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 06:56 Sun, 29 Oct 2017
Thaba Nchu - Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, should release an investigative report on the controversial Free State Vrede Dairy Farm project.
This is according to DA leader Mmusi Maimane, speaking at the party's elective conference in Thaba Nchu in the Free State. He says the report should have been released in April already. Maimane says the project is a clear example of how the government loots state money for personal use.
Maimane says the province is rich in Agriculture and should be investing in that instead of looting taxpayers money.
Maimane further criticises the provincial government for the province's high unemployment rate while millions are being spent on alleged government service delivery flagship programmes to hide corruption and their criminal activities.
Maimane says Premier Ace Magashule and Minister Mosebenzi Zwane, among others, must be held accountable for the millions that have allegedly been looted from the Vrede Dairy.
The leaked #GuptaEmails indicated that money earmarked for the project was used to fund the family’s Sun City wedding.
Meanwhile, Free State leader Patricia Kopane was re-elected at the conference.
