Wepener Town Hall arson suspect taken for mental examination─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 13:20 Wed, 13 Sep 2017
The case against the 26-year-old man allegedly involved in the torching of the Wepener Town Hall has been postponed until further notice.
The Wepener Magistrate’s Court heard yesterday that Justice Moshao needs to be taken for a further 30 days’ mental examination.
The case was previously postponed pending a psychiatric report. Police spokesperson, Yanga Ngcukana, says the report will determine whether the suspect is fit to stand trial.
Moshao was arrested for the alleged arson after the police received information that he has been staying on the premises for a couple of months and might have started the blaze on August 11.
Ngcukana says the suspect faces charges of arson. The investigation continues.
