Eleven accused of plagiarism at NWU | News Article

Potchefstroom - An investigation is underway after eleven academics have been accused of plagiarism at North West University (NWU).

The university was informed of the accusations by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

According to NWU’s Louis Jacobs, the investigation is at an advanced stage and no disciplinary steps have been taken against the academics.

"Nothing has happened to them as a result of the investigation still continuing. The moment that that is finalised then further decisions will be taken. Plagiarism is considered a very serious offence at the university and automatically any such incident is handled accordingly,” says Jacobs.
