FS Education lauds police investigation into school rape─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 12:31 Sat, 17 Jun 2017
Bloemfontein -The Free State Education Department has applauded the police's investigation thus far into an incident in which a teenage girl from HTS Louis Botha in Bloemfontein was allegedly raped by two fellow learners on school grounds last week.
A video taken on a cell phone by two boys in school clothes while two other boys fondled the girl without consent have been distributed widely on social media.
The victim was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and passed out when some boys found her on the school grounds and allegedly assaulted her sexually.
Education spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says the department has been working closely with police following the incident.
Police could not confirm how many boys were involved in the incident. They are expected to be arrested on Monday after which they will appear in the local Children's Court.
