The learners, including the girl, are in uniform. Police spokesperson, Mosidi Ntsika, says the police are aware of the incident which allegedly occurred last Wednesday.

“The SAPS are aware and a case of rape is registered at Park Road [Police Station]. Park Road, Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is handling the case as we speak. At the moment witness statements are being gathered by the investigating officer so nobody has been arrested at the present moment but the case is receiving attention,” she says.

Ntsika told OFM News the police are also trying to trace the origin of the video.

“The Distribution and sharing of the video is also illegal as it is of an explicit nature. Should anybody be found to have been the originator of the video they will also be charged with distribution of pornographic material,” she added.

In the video one of the boys, while filming the incident jokingly accuses the other of trying to rape the girl, in Sesotho. The other one – who also tries to forcefully kiss the girl – tells her that all her friends have deserted her, and they are the only ones there to take care of her now.
