BREAKING NEWS: 37 vehicles damaged in fire at Welkom Police Station─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 16:08 Mon, 08 May 2017
Welkom - Firefighters from the Matjhabeng Municipality's Fire Brigade managed to contain a blaze that started at about 14:00 in a veld near the police's headquarters in Welkom.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Francois Klaassen, says police vehicles and private vehicles which had been impounded and stored in an open area at a storage facility of the police caught fire. He says about 37 vehicles were damaged. Firefighters are still on the scene, ensuring the blaze is extinguished.
