Ladybrand - Police in the Free State are investigating the cause of death after a missing girl’s body was found in a swimming pool in Ladybrand this morning.
Police spokesperson, Phumelelo Dhlamini, says Natasha Potgieter (6) was reported missing at the local police office at about 19:00 on Sunday night.
She was last seen alive at 14:00 at a block of municipal apartments where she lives. "Her body was found after 08:00 this morning in a swimming pool by the owner of the house. He alerted police. The house is close to the Potgieter’s home."
Dhlamini says immediately after the body was discovered the girl’s family was notified.
A missing child alert by the organisation for missing children, Pink Ladies, was distributed about the girl’s disappearance last night.
