Kimberley - The Sol Plaatje Municipality has admitted that the Open Mine Caravan Park in Kimberley is in a poor state, and it needs to come to the party in terms of its upkeep.
This comes after Graeme Addison, an assessor for tourist guides countrywide, alerted OFM News about the deteriorating state of the park.
Addison said there is no gate security, windows are broken, the toilets are full of graffiti and many fittings are broken. He added that drains at the campsites are blocked and overflowing. There is also a lack of tables, benches and braai units.
Sol Plaatje municipal spokesperson Sello Matsie, says they are aware of the problems, and will attend to the matter.
Addison did however say the general appearance of the park is tidy.
