Botshabelo - The Popano Secondary School in Botshabelo, which upped their 2010 matric pass rate from 66% to 89% last year, will be one of the beneficiaries in receiving support from the Free State Department of Sport.
Speaking to OFM News earlier today, MEC Dan Kgothule said the school has been identified as one of the three oldest schools in the township, yet they have no real facilities to create a steady learning environment.
The school has also been identified as one which struggled for some years with a lack of proper development, resulting in the learners’ poor performance.
On Saturday, Kgothule, parents, learners and members of the community will start revamping the school, armed with paint brushes and paint.
