Bloemfontein - Martin “Basvanger” Labuschagne, well-known musician and bass player for South African artist Jan Blohm, passed away this morning at 02:00. Blohm posted the news on his Facebook page at 09:00. Labuschagne was recently hospitalised after contracting an infection. He was later diagnosed with septicemia. Three concerts to raise funds for Labuschagne’s medical expenses were to be held in Pretoria this month. Labuschagne had been playing bass for the Jan Blohm band for the past six years. Blohm said on his Facebook page that a brilliant musician, close friend and dear individual has been lost.
