8 September is Funky Socks Day to improve education in SA | News Article

Funky Socks Day is here! Join hands with Breadline Africa and PNA by purchasing a sticker for R10 and wearing your funky socks on 8 September to show your support for education in SA.

Janine McAvoy from Breadline Africa joins Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens to talk about this fantastic initiative and to highlight the work they do across Southern Africa.

Early childhood offers a critical window of opportunity to shape the trajectory of a child’s holistic development and build a foundation for their future. Access to safe schools with built toilets and classrooms is a way we can ensure this.

You can play an active role by purchasing your Funky Sock Day stickers at PNA stores nationwide. This money goes directly to the upgrade of Lusemanzi ECD.

Lusemanzi Early Childhood Development Centre educates 192 children. The principal, Lorato Duma, started the centre in 1997 and despite the many challenges she has faced over the years, like an arson attack and severe storm damage, she runs a successful centre. She continuously wants to improve and we would love for you to help.

The funds raised through Funky Socks Day will provide Lusemanzi ECD with two additional prefabricated classrooms, an office/sickbay, and eight toilets.

Get your stickers here and get ready to put on your funkiest socks on 8 September!
