“Did you know that watermelon consists of 92% water, and the other 8% is made up of carbohydrates, vitamins A and C, and minerals, including potassium.”

As summer rapidly draws near, nutritious and delicious fruits are finally ripe for the picking.

All fruit are undeniably great for your body for various reasons. But to combat the heat this summer, here’s a list of fruits that can boost your immune system, improve digestion, and reduce inflammation.

  • Berries

Summer berries such as blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, and cherries. Berries are good for your budget as well, as they are regularly on sale. Greatist.com mentions these fruits carry great quantities of anthocyanins’, of which benefits include possible protection from some cancers and heart disease. They may promote visual health too. Sprinkle any summer berries on top of your oatmeal, pancakes, toast, yogurt, or ice cream. Or combine multiple types into a delicious, antioxidant-rich cobbler.

  • Lemons

Not many people think of grabbing a lemon when craving something yummy, unless when adding them to seafood dishes or adding them to a drink. This sour fruit is good for anti-inflammatory assistance and potentially contains anticancer properties. The easiest way to consume the fruit is by cutting it up and throwing a few slices into a glass of water alongside cucumber and mint to keep you hydrated all day.
