The ITEC Knights are ready and excited ahead of the 2024/25 domestic cricket season which, for them,  will start next week. The Knights are back in Division 1 this season after earning a promotion. They are determined to make it count.

Having played in Division 2 in the 2023/24 season due to their relegation it will be tough and a big step-up will be required. That said, the mere fact that they were promoted and are back in the top-flight should serve as enough motivation for the season.

Last week, the Knights played preseason games against Quinton Friend’s Dolphins in Durban, while this week they played a series of intersquad warm-up games in Bloemfontein.

The Knights will host the North West Dragons next week Saturday in the T20 Challenge to get their season underway.

The Knights all-rounder, Aubrey Swanepoel, told OFM Sport they are excited to get going. “The preseason has been very good,” said the experienced Swanepoel.

“Going to Durban, we had a few good warm-up games and then we played two intersquad games here.

“The boys are really looking forward to next week Saturday’s first game. Especially with the new faces with experienced guys coming to the party. It’s just about making sure that we play good cricket, remaining calm and trusting in the work we put in during the winter. Other than that, we’re just waiting for the season to start.”

Next week Saturday’s game at the Mangaung Oval gets underway at 14:00.
