Take a cold plunge for a good cause─── ZENANDE MPAME 11:23 Mon, 24 Jul 2023
Three Bloemfontein NPOs will host The Purpose Splash on Saturday (29/7) at the Grey College swimming pool.
This event is being hosted by the Bloemfontein Hospice, CHOC House, and Aurora Alcohol and Drug Centre.
Anyone who doesn't mind getting in a pool of cold water in winter is encouraged to join in and support all three charities at once.

“The Purpose Splash is an event where you can show what you are made of, so take a plunge for a purpose,” said Marietjie Landsberg from Aurora Alcohol and Drug Centre.
Participants have the option to participate individually or in groups of five.

“The Purpose Splash is symbolic in the sense that when you find out that your child has cancer or that you will be dying soon, it is the same as jumping in cold water.
“This event will show that people are empathetic towards people who find themselves in those circumstances,” said Sonet van Zyl from CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation of the SA Free State region.
Zak Steyn will provide entertainment for the people and there will be food stalls that will provide hot beverages.
